HEADING TOWARD ALBERTA: JUNE 2026
We are definitely “travelers.”
Will Alberta be our final destination?
“It’s not the destination that matters, but the journey.”
We haven’t felt called to return to France. However, we have felt called to leave the province of Quebec and the city of La Tuque, where we’ve been living since 2017.
It is not without difficulty that we are making this decision, as we are very attached to our friends and to the Haute-Mauricie region. The impact of our presence is etched in the heavens and perhaps in the hearts of those we have lived alongside over all these years. We have shared our respective joys, sorrows, and trials. We have witnessed a great deal of suffering and have experienced it ourselves through our son Samuel-Angelo’s illness.
Jesus’ presence in our hearts was our only comfort. We shared it with love and respect, remaining attentive to opportunities while strictly avoiding any form of religious opportunism.
Why did we choose Alberta?
Because of its societal values, which align with our family situation and our son’s illness. After pleading with the Creator, everything became clear to our family, even though at first we had reservations due to our age and the magnitude of the challenge ahead. As they say, many of our “indicators” aren’t in the green, but the One of faith is urging us to set out.
Alberta will therefore be our new province. We drove over 4,500 km to get there. We left on June 23, and on August 1, we settled into a rental home in Coalhurst, north of Lethbridge.
We are paying special attention to the historical geography of the Blackfoot Nation’s territory.
We are currently looking for a Christian community with whom we can share our love for the Creator and for our neighbors.
Thank you for your prayers and your love.
Daniel, Isabelle, Samuel-Angelo, and Marie.
